Sorry to have been gone for so long. You know that saying..everything seems to happen at once? Well after going to see my aunt in Michigan for a week while she rec'd radiation treatments I had a horrible full blown asthma attack. It continued on until I got migraines. Then after several trips to the doctor and several different pills later, still having the headaches.
Today went to the chiropractor and got adjusted and rec'd acupuncture... hopefully will start feeling like myself again. I think I've lost touch with who that might be!!
But did finish a challenge from my quilt group so will post a picture soon of that! Thanks for listening or should I say reading? It's not too exciting right??

What Family Is All About
I've been off the radar for a little while. I'm in Michigan staying with my Aunt who's going through radiation treatments right now. She's my favorite Aunt. Always has been. It's so hard to see her growing tired and weak. She has always been the one I got my "moxie" from. I'm sure that probably dates me, huh?
We've been talking about old times and I'm learning some things about my grandmother who died at a very young age of brain cancer. There's the word I hate more than ever.
I have been able to get a few things done. Sewing bindings on 2 Valor quilts. Putting sleeves on 2 wall hangings one was for my aunt and the other for my best friend. I've been working on a heart pincushion swap for a group I'm in.
Life is very short...spend as much time as possible with family and friends who are dear and near your heart. Have no regrets. I'm missing my husband and son very much. I'm really missing my "little guy" a lot...my dog! I know he's lost without his mommy. Have a wonderful day and hug someone today!

Where's the time going?
I don't know about anyone else, has the world started going faster? There doesn't seem to be enough time in the day for me to do what I "have" to get done like dishes, laundry, shopping & cooking. How is it possible to get all that done when ALL I want to do is sew or think about sewing?
That's why my blog is called growing old fast. It's like a race that I can't win! When is it time to do the "fun" stuff? Maybe I just need to "organize" better huh? Well going to "think" about what I might get to quilt, sew or bead tomorrow. Hope it happens for me as well as you!! Have a wonderful weekend.

Sad Day
Today has been a day that my heart was broken...by the death of a very special friend. Her name is Jeanie Pitzen. She is and always be in my heart. She was the most caring and special woman I have ever known.
She always had an encouraging word to everyone and a ready smile. She was a gentle soul. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother & friend. This world has lost someone great. No matter the pain and sickness that she struggled with from the treatments to treat her pancreatic cancer she was concerned about you and how could she help. She was a gifted quilter. She will be sorely missed by all. Jeanie I Love You Now & Forever my dear friend. HUGS, Pam

Pond Walk
Today was the perfect day to be outside...not too hot or humid. Went with a friend to a "Pond Walk" that was a fund raiser for our local Cancer Community Center. My friend is a nurse there. It's a place that I support in any way I can. Well we got our list of the "ponds" on the walk. You drove to each home and then saw the lovely ponds. There were some beautiful ones! You could see at many of them that the people are really dedicated to the care and work that's involved.
As soon as I can I will load the pictures I took. Some had fish...some really big fish and how colorful and pretty they were. I've always wanted a pond. But...maybe I need to think hard and long about it after seeing what it really takes. I love the sound of the water it's very soothing.
And some very smart people had garage sales all around where the ponds were. Of course we couldn't resist the temptation to just "look". As I'm sure you know we walked away with a few deals!! But it was a nice day. We're going to have a week long "heat advisory" so I have a feeling that this was the day to be outside.
So to all I wish you a wonderful week.

Heat & Cleaning Out
Boy can it get any hotter here? Of course when does my darling husband decide that we need to clean out the basement? Well sweaty has been my name for 3 days now!! My area "the laundry room" is almost done. How do all those one footed socks appear and a pillowcase with no sheet?
His section "the work room" is a complete mass of craziness!! Who knew he had ALL those tools. I guess I just hide my tools a little better. Wires, pipes, tools, lamp parts, screws & nails...how many nails and screws can you need? Paint cans are popping up everywhere!! But none of those are colors I like?!
It seems that what ended outside in the trash for pick up is no where near what I thought it should be!! But do I want him to help me in my sewing room?? Maybe...he seems to 'need" a lot of tools and screws and nails. Maybe I'm needing some more fabric, beads, ribbon, thread & needles and I just don't know it!! Have a wonderful day and take my advice...stay out of your husband's work room!!

Happy July
Boy it's hard to believe that it's already July. What exciting things do you have planned? My family and I are going to a little town called Towanda, they have a whole town garage & flea market. Then they have a parade with antique fire trucks and some old tractors while they throw candy to the children!
It's looking like the weather may hold up. It was so hot here yesterday that I could barely breathe! Tomorrow night my son & I will go watch the fireworks.
I have signed up to do some postcards and mug rugs for swaps. When they're finished I'll post pictures of them.
Have a safe and wonderfully fun 4th of July. Pam
